In my opinion the tone of the United States declaring war was not viewed well by the people. I think that the American public believed that they had no reason to enter the war, and many Americans would lose their lives. I do think that the government felt the need to declare war, and it seems that they had a purpose to get involved and turn the war around. I think the American governments tone was to show that they would defend their nation and wouldn't let the Germans defeat them and their allies.
In my opinion the German response seemed to say that they wanted to have peace with America and were fighting England. It seems that the Germans didn't want the United States to enter the war because they knew that it would be harder for them to obtain Hitlers goals.

With the holiday season upon us, what better to write about than world chaos.
Dear Editor of New York Times
I am writing to you today to express my opinion about the new organization known as WikiLeaks. The website has had a lot of mixed reactions from public and political insurgents. WikiLeaks is known for releasing important classified documents from world governments to the public. I believe that the site should be taken down as it could pose a threat to national even global security. If the site were to have still been accessible then it would have been a major security threat because the information could be accessed by enemies of the country. Classified documents of world governments could provide terrorist intel to certain classified government plans. The creator of the website argued that the government should be open about their issues and policies, explaining that the site was created for that sole purpose. Although the creators point is valid, the website has been taken of the world wide web. In my opinion the website could have highlighted certain government weaknesses or information that could be used against them. Countries must now take extreme caution with their information, because if it does end up in the wrong hands the consequences could be devastating. The government did right to remove the website, but the placing of the creator in prison seems to still be a major talking point. The creators mother believes her son is not a criminal, and many people all over the world want his freedom. There are still many conflicting public and political opinions about the site but I believe that it will be resolved shortly.
